Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome all went behind the structure that was once the Hall of Bureaucracy looking for a source of the power that apparently sustained the Towzians.
Or so Jerome had told Vincent, Cogil, and Ryan. In actuality Jerome knew full well where the source of the power was in the city, and it was actually his group of outsiders who wanted to get their hands on such a power to see if it could be manipulated to other forms.
For his country was really at war with another country. Over the centuries since the transformation of Towz the outside world had changed. In some ways it was a better place to live, in others it would never and could never be so. Jerome's country knew some country somewhere would eventually come to Towz, searching for this power in the hopes of using it against an enemy or perhaps transforming their own society. What ever the motivation Towz, and the rest of the world, would never be the same.
In the meanwhile the Towzians re-animating these ex-Towzians would provide ample distraction while the effects of the power on Towz could be studied more fully.
Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome were now standing in an alley way studying the rock formations.
"Hey, I think this is it." Vincent said.
"What have you found?" Cogil asked.
"It appears to be a small hatchway. And I think it goes down. Here help me lift it off." Vincent said.
Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome all worked together and slowly opened a small hatch that seemed to blend into the walkway. The city of Towz was now so festive and idealistic even the alleys and walkways behind structures seemed to perfectly blend in and fit with the theme of the entire city.
The hatch way was oddly shaped and part way up the wall and partially built in to the walkway. The handle was plain for anyone to see but still blended quite well into the wall and walkway. With a great effort Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome managed to open the door way up.
Slowly, all three made their way into the opening. It was quite dark but like the rest of Towz the city seemed to sense the presense of citizens and accomadate them in some way. The tunnel Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome now found them in had an odd glow to it. The mysterious light source was strange in that the source could hardly be found and yet it was enough to see by.
As Vincent, Cogil, Ryan and Jerome went down the tunnel it became obvious this wasn't really a sewer tunnel. Nor, it seemed, would it be leading to any place near Subterranean Towz. Instead this tunnel was a gradual slope downward away from the the Hall of Bureaucracy, deep into the earth. The tunnel was just large enough an average heighted person may have to croch down a little.
